Hi,
This is definely not your fault. And the endo is wrong. So many of us
initially get told to lose weiught and all will be fine - but
unfortunately it is not that easy.
Did your endo give you any practical advice? Will you be given
metformin? Metformin is first line treatment for PCOS - particularly if
you are trying to get pregnant. This will help you with the insulin
resistance. FInd out all you can and change what you can (diet (low
refined carb) and exercise are critical) and keep looking for a good
endo if the current one won't help.
Your ob-gyne may be prepared to work with you. Keep her if she is good
and you can both learn / be educated as you go along, if necessary.
People on this board will also be very helpful.
I started off at 210 lbs (which I had gained very quickly) and now after
2 1/2 years am down to 147 lbs. It has been very hard - and I take
meds, and diet, and exercise. But it is possible.
Best wishes
Sally

>awww, sweetie, this isnt your fault for having PCOS and IR. There is no way you could have brought this on yourself. Alot of women see the symptoms of PCOS shortly after high school, so late teens, early twenties. There are some who only see the pcos symptoms after they have already had kids. Myself, I gained a total of 100 LBS. and i dont eat fatty things. I joined a gym and everything and it wont come off!!! I gained 70lbs within a months time frame...That was horrible, i had no clothes in my closet that would fit me!!!!! Try low carbing, and pick an excersize routine and stuick to it. I am a manager of this infertility group, and the woman there just excersized and she ovulated sponatiously on her own and now she is prego!! Hang in there
