Sorry this reply is a day or two late, I had a problem sending this through the first time! Let's hope it pots this time! :)

GET A NEW ENDO!! Don't ever go back to that one because frankly, they don't know their a** from their elbow - and don't let them make you feel bad about it either!

Listen - One of the main symptoms of PCOS and IR is *unexplained weight gain.* It is a symptom of a disease, and has nothing to do with anything you've done or not done! You did NOT bring PCOS on yourself. Any doctor that makes you feel that way is practicing very poor medicine and, IMHO, a pretty terrible human being!

You're right that you're not at all that overweight. PCOS symptoms can be progressive, so yes, it's possible that just recently this started being an issue for you.

Many women with PCOS are not overweight - they say 50% - so tell me, if weight gain caused PCOS, what on earth would have caused the PCOS problems for these women? A while ago we talked about it on this board and the majority of women with weight issues had other symptoms of PCOS *first* - so the weight didn't cause their PCOS either. Just like it sure isn't causing yours! (Please, if everyone who was over 160lbs was infertile, there would be no babies in the world!)

Good doctors that understand PCOS do exist, unfortunately sometimes you have to go through some experiences like this before you find them. Please don't let this doctor make you feel bad - they are WRONG. Keep trying new doctors until you get to one who actually knows something about PCOS, but don't go back to that one! (In fact, I'd not only switch, I'd write a nasty note to that endo telling them exactly WHY you won't be using their services! They need to know when they're doing people a disservice!)

Read through the notes on this board, there's a lot of support here! Post or email if you've got any questions, and hang in there. Once you find the right doctor it does get better!
