There are probably several different diagnoses for your condition other
than PCOS, but I'd guess the most likely is PCO - PolyCystic Ovaries.
All this means is that you have an ovary that gets cysts, it doesn't
include all of the other fun endocrine problems that PCOS does.
I *believe* PCO can cause mid-cycle spotting, but your gyn might know
more about this!
