Need Encouragement - Very SadFrom: Allison (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 16 May 2003 21:34:16 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, everyone, I just need some words of encouragement and support. I'm 26 years old. I've been dealing with severe endometriosis with ovarian involvement for 7 years, and now I've been diagnosed with a mild form of PCOS. Eight months ago, I noticed that my hair was "shedding" more than usual. My gynecologist placed me on Demulen and spironolactone in January until I could see a reproductive endocrinologist. I had to stop taking the spironolactone due to extreme dehydration (even at 100 mg), even though I was drinking plenty of water. Then, prior to my appointment with the RE, I had to stop the Demulen so that the test results would be accurate. He just placed me on Yasmin and, at my request, will be placing me on Glucophage in one month. I've been so emotional about this situation, and I don't feel that those I know can understand. I just need to find some hope somewhere... That things will get better, and that they won't always be like this. I would do anything in the world to feel happy, healthy, and optimistic again. Thank you for listening...
-- Allison
