I am in the UK and don't know where you are. But I've contacted the BACC (Britisch acupuncture council) they've a website online where you can search for a accredited qualified acupuncturist in the area. I pay £20 for an hour. The needles are very thin, and on most parts of your body you don't feel a thing, apparently if you have stagnant energy it may hurt the first time the needle goes in (I had that and it wasn't nice) but after that I didn't even feel it going in the next time. Sometimes they wiggle the needle a bit which may feel a bit like a nerve pain. But in general I don't feel you should worry about the pain aspect to much. Apparently it is even better if you can have acupuncture in combination with chines herbs (which is a lot worse than the acupunture as it tastes digusting!!). The lady I see is quailiied etc. in both which is ideal for me.

Good luck
