Re: All those taking Metformin ......... to EmajoFrom: Mel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 2 May 2003 08:44:33 -0500 (CDT)
Hi I am based in the uk too. Before i saw my specilaist i printed off heaps of reports and info form here and the web regarding the positive impact of Met with PCOS. I was ttc at the time and took a report with me that sited miscarridges are reduced really dramatically if you take met. He took a little persuading but perscribed it. When I went to my GP for a repeat perscription he just smiled and said that Met is now a standard form of treatment for PCOS!! I think it depends on your doctor. Is it worth seeing a new doc who is supportive of Met? If not go armed with as much evidence as you can. Generally we are about 5 years behing the USA with medical treatment and attitudes, so it can be a battle. I wish you luck, be strong and informed and stand by your guns. Take great care Mel
