I have almost all the symptoms of PCOS, but am not sure what kind of doctor I should visit. From: Denise (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 30 Apr 2003 23:49:20 -0500 (CDT)
I am 30 years old and have almost all the symptoms of PCOS. I'm not sure about the infertility problems because I have already had two children in my late teens and twenties (might I add I was not overweight at the time of either of their conceptions and was also very active)and I am not currently trying to get pregnant. However, I am not on birth control pills. The sudden weight gains, hair loss, coarse dark hair growth, pelvic pain and bloating, irregular periods, depression, mood swings, symptoms of hypoglycemia, urinary incontinence, occasional high blood pressure, racing of my pulse, and fatigue, are all things that I have developed over the years. I have been tested for diabetes and had my thyroid tested (two seperate doctor's visits) and went to the doctor about my hair falling out and he told me that women don't lose their hair and I shouldn't worry about it. However, I have never told one specific doctor about all of these symptoms combined, because I never new they could be related. I need to now what kind of doctor I should see and are there any doctors in Oklahoma that are knowledgable about PCOS and willing to treat women with the syndrome?
