Re: do I really need to take the pill with PCOS?

I agree with Sonnet. There is not a "need" to be on the pill. Personally I think the pill covers up the symptoms and does not help with the root problem. Diet, exercise, and possibly insulin sensitzing meds are the best ways to fight PCOS. I am on metformin and I try to stay away from sugar, white bread, white pasta, and white rice, or any type of refined carbs. I also try to keep my carbs in general low.

I sometimes think it would be better to ignore the fact that I have PCOS, but it is important to try to take control of it because of the long term health problems it can cause (diabites, heart disease, etc.).

There is hope and I hope I have helped :)
