I had an HSG a couple years ago. It wasn't that painful just uncomfortable. However, I started bleeding A LOT after it. Within 2 weeks I ended up having a D&C to stop the bleeding. However, IT IS IMPORTANT!!! My doctor was able to see a mass blocking my right fallopian tube (later believed to be a fibroid).
