Hi Angel, Here is my easy explanation of PCOS. Insulin combines with sugars and carbohydrates(bread, pasta ect..) to make energy for you body to maintain itself. In a person wit PCOS, the carbs and the insulin dont get together as well as they should. The carbs, not converted into energy are stored as fat. The excess insulin floats around in your blood steam basically messing up alot of hormones resulting in no periods, hair where it shouldnt be, losing where it should, and all the other neat stuff us girls have to deal with. Alot of us take metform. It a drug that makes are insulin work better. Thats my simple version. Here's a link to get a much more technical one.

Don't get to uptight about the baby issue. Alot of us have children here. Some of us do need more help than others getting them. Be happy that you know what the problem is at such a young age. I wish that 20 years ago(boy I'm getting old), someone had told me about PCOS and insulin resistance. Hope it helps.
