Hi Roberta, Glad to see you survived your pulmonary embolism. I had one in 1995 and the only reason I'm here is that I dropped over in the doctors office. It never ceases to amaze me that doctors Rx BCPs for PCOS when Insulin resistance increases your likelyhood of having a pulmonary embolism. I'm sorry to here that you can't use metformin. I am hoping that another insulin sensitizing drug can be found to work for you. You might find that eliminating sugar and processed carbs might help some in controlling you PCOS. I'ts tough getting used to , but after awhile you do get into the swing of it. It's made me feel so much better.
