Can my daughters have PCOS?From: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 10 Apr 2003 17:00:44 -0500 (CDT)
I was diagnosed with PCOS 20 years ago. Luckily I was able to conceive my first daughter after just one month on Clomid. I now have four healthy daughters: the oldest just turned 19 and the youngest is seven. My oldest daughter has been battling acne for several years, she has tried most acne treatments stopping short of Accutane and Ortho-tricyclene. She also has irregular menstrual cycles. My question is; is there an increased risk of PCOS when the mother had it? We have an appointment with a GYN in a couple of weeks to try to get her on birth control for acne treatment and I would like to have more information to give him.
