Your doctor will perform a blood test for your hormones mainly LH and FSHand possibly testosterone levels she may also give you a scan to check your ovaries for cysts . It sounds to me like you may have pcos according to your symptoms. If you do have it you may find it difficult to conceive some woman can conceive quite easily while others can take years sometimes not at all it realy depends on the severity of the disorder. I have been trying to conceive for seven years now with no success but i never give up hope. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to ask GOOD LUCK. -------Original Message------- From: anonymous@obgyn.net Date: Friday, April 04, 2003 02:30:46 To: Multiple recipients of list PCOS Subject: what will blood test do? Hi all- I'm new here- just stumbled onto this board. I'm supposed to go back to my GYN in 2 weeks to get a blood test to see if I have PCOS. What will she test for, and is that all that is needed to see if I have it or not? I'm 27 yrs old, married, and scared that I may have trouble conceiving. My GYN was concerned because she saw that I shave a few hairs below my bellybutton, I'm moderately overweight, and I have adult acne. Are these enough to warrant a test to see if I have PCOS? I just have alot of questions.
