Just looking for some moral support!From: Jodi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 30 Mar 2003 16:31:38 -0600 (CST)
Well, I wrote a few days ago right before dr. appt. My dr. said "You probably have pcos but, to make this short & sweet, "I can't help you anymore until you get insurance." I get depressed because that is just not available to us. I'm in pain on a daily basis and feel as if I get punished for getting up to go to work every day (I'm self-employed -- deliver newspapers). If I didn't work, I'd be eligible for medicaid. So it sucks to be "punished" for trying to make a living and be self-sufficient. So -- I guess I'm not asking for advice. Maybe I'm just looking for a friend or two who really understands what this is all about to correspond with on a regular basis. It is difficult to make my husband or family understand that this is not just a problem with pain and female stuff. From what I've read, this can wreak havoc on your overall health and I just feel all alone. So any moral support and possible friendship would be appreciated. Just to be able to tell someone about my bad days AND GOOD days without feeling like I'm just whining would be wonderful!
-- I was just diagnosed last week and had a follow-up with my dr yesterday and also left in tears and with a prescription for bc pills only. Never had my hormone levels tested. To sum up what my dr said, "I can't do any more to help you until you get insurance." So basically I just sit and suffer and hope this doesn't play havoc on my health in other ways, too. I feel pretty helpless and hopeless right now. I understand where you are coming from.
