Keep in mind: A scan for cysts is NOT usually used to diagnose PCOS - many women have cysts who do not have PCOS, and many women with PCOS do not have cysts. It would be a shame to insist on a scan, find no cysts, and then have your doctor forever telling you to put the idea of PCOS out of your head because of the scan.

I agree that checking testosterone and DHEAS is a great idea. I'd also add insulin levels and cortisol. Having endocrine symptoms like you describe is a problem, it's not just 'normal' - you deserve to have it figured out and treated, no matter what the cause.
