pcos the saga

I was diagnosed as having pcos approx 6 years ago and since then i have had virually no suggestions or support from the medical profession. It is only within the last 6 months that I was given metformin (and unfortunately the side effects are not diminishing in any way). I am grateful for sites and forums like this one as otherwise I would be at my wits end. I worry about infertility and sometimes feel that sufferers are left to treat themselves. Once a year the doctors check my hormone levels etc but I get told they are within the realms of normal and there is nothing that they can suggest to help except that i should lose weight. My last visit to the doctors went so badly that I left in tears as I was simply told to carry on taking the metformin, deal with the leg pains caused by my weight and hope. Has anyone else had such trouble getting help?
