I think it just varies... and I know for MOST women it is fine after a week or two or three, but every once in a while you really do just end up not being able to tolerate it, even with moving up in dose slowly and watching what foods you take it with and everything else. Actos I have heard is not so bad... also ther eis the option of Glucophage XR, which is just gluc. with an extended release coating on the pill. That makes it a lot easier for the tummy to tolerate though, because you're not getting this one big hit of medication all at once.

Sorry I don't have any real numbers....
