If you haven't missed a period, why would you want to check for pregnancy?

I think some of the tests you buy say they can be used as early as 4 days before the missed period, but the truth is that with all the tests you are pretty likely to get a false negative up until something like 5 days after the period is due.

If you're talking about those cases where you mensturate so sporadically, you can't really say you "missed" a period, the test should work fine, if you really are pregnant. But if you have regular periods, and want to test, you may as well save your money and wait till your period is actually due.
