Hi there,

My ultrasound apparently showed ovarian cysts but I did not respond to the provera/progesterone challenge (no bleeding). I know PCOS can vary from woman to woman but my history seems a bit different from those I've been reading. I have always had regular periods since I began menstruating at age 12. I have also always been extremely fertile (at the drop of a hat). However, about 4 months ago my periods suddenly ceased. I have had no pain now or in the past and in fact I have always had more energy and felt better during my period. I do have the hairyness in all the right (wrong) places and have had since I was a kid but I got tested at about 13 and my testosterone levels were normal so they chalked it up to my ethnicity (apparently they thought b/c I was half indo-canadian that it was normal for me to have excess hair). I also noticed what seems like some minor alopecia, however my hair is very thick elsewhere on my head and it is hardly noticeable (sure hope it remains this way). I have always struggled with my weight but only once 2 years ago did I notice a quick and drastic increase in my weight. However, my periods were always normal when I was overweight but they stopped after I began to lose the weight (slow, gradual, healthy weightloss). My insulin levels are fine and apparently so is my estrogen. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Your cyster- Cassie
