Re: Diagnosed with PCOS! Is it really PCOS?

I think that it is good that you are changing doctors; I was surprised to read that your doctor does not do regular blood work to check your hormone levels. I have found that my Endocrinologist was much more helpful in treating me for PCOS than my OBGYN. Have you had your thyroid checked? Thyroid problems can make it impossible to lose weight. I have PCOS and I am hypothyroid and once I started being treated for both, the weight started coming off. I would suggest that you wait to see what your new OBGYN says and if possible try to find an Endocrinologist. From what I have read, a hysterectomy will not stop the symptoms of PCOS.
