32 and never had a natural periodFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 5 Mar 2003 17:18:27 -0600 (CST)
I never started my period on my own. Was drug induced at age 20. Been off pill couple times for 2 years at a time with NO PERIOD in that 2 years. My hormones levels are normal, taken when off the pill for 2 years, as well as when on the pill. But my FSH and LH values are flip flopped preventing ovulation from triggering. MY QUESTION: Could I put myself into premature menapause if I stop taking the pill? This confuses the docs, they just tell me to stay on the pill to be safe. Well, if my hormones levels are all within normal ranges--how would I be causing premature menapause by stopping the pill? I do not need birth control. If I am not ovulating--duh? If I were to get pg out of the blue it would be a blessing, but I will not go down the fertility road until closer to the age of 40, if I decide I do want a baby.
