Re: Dark man-hairs on Chest and BreastsFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 5 Mar 2003 07:30:25 -0600 (CST)
I had hair on my upper lip, my chin, one side of my face, AND my breasts also. This was all due to the high testosterone (male hormone) level associated with PCOS. I had all the facial hair removed with electrolosis, but as far as my breasts, for me it's easy just to shave it off a couple times a week. The electrolosis worked, but the hair kept growing back. It was not until I was diagnosed with PCOS, got on the right diet and medication and did something about it, that the hair I had zapped off every month stopped growing back. You need to see a doctor and have tests done ASAP. Ask for tests for PCOS, Insulin Resistance, and Cushings Syndrome, and anything else your doctor decides so you can get to the bottom of the problem. This disease involves more than hair, and your overall health will worsen as you get older.
