Clomid and no period but not pregnant?

I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome confirmed by scan. I first took clomid in Aug 2002 and did not get pregnant, however my period came 28 days after my last one. I got pregnant in the 2nd cycle- September 2002. Sadly i had a missed-abortion in late november which was devastating, as we had been trying for a pregnancy for over 18months. After having had a period and therefore giving my body a chance to get 'back to normal' before attempting pregnancy, i am now taking clomid again. Once again, on the first cycle i did not get pregnant (my period came after only 20 days). My period is now 5 days late. I have done a number of urine pregnancy tests which were negative.Could you also please tell me what the chances are of clomid working a second time? I am taking 50mg from days 5-9. Why my period hasn't come (remembering the pregnancy tests were negative), and how long is reasonable to try clomid for before either increasing the dose, or trying another medication? We have been doing everything right - having intercourse very regularly, non smokers and non drinkers, both mid 20's, healthy diet and regular exercise. Please help. Thankyou.
