I had the laparoscopy before I found out that I had PCOS. Come to find out that even if you have the cysts removed they will come back. Until you have your hormones in order they will continue to come back. In my state the surgery cost me about 11,000.00 and did nothing to help. Find a good endocrinologist and have him give you a look. They are very helpful and can often ease any anguish you might have about surgeries or medicines. My reccommendation is that you do what would make you feel comfortable with your treatment. We as women can tell what is going to help or hurt us. Follow your gut instinct.

And stick with this forum. I have read alot of helpful information here. The women are intelligent and can offer other options for treatment.

I was diagnosed with PCOS over three years ago. Have been unable to find the right doctor as of yet to treat it. The most recent doctor I've only seen twice and he has only done one exam on me and already wants to put me on glucophage. My friend suggested in seeing her obgyn. I called their office and asked for some background, etc. The nurse asked me if any of my previous doctors gave me a laparoscopy. I have not had this procedure, should I? And what harm or benefits can come from it?
