new & concerned...

Hi~ My ob/gyn told me last week *very lightly*, almost as an "oh, by the way" that I have PCOS, but she said it "really doesn't mean anything". Everything else I have read though suggests that there are other health issues to be concerned with. (I am not trying to get pregnant, so infertility is not an issue for me) I recently noticed that I am growing faint little black hairs on my upper lip and chin, no period for over 8 months,(NEVER have been regular except when on the pill) I have gained about 25 pounds in the past 18 months, AND looking over my labs, my glucose is "high-out of range" at 118. She put me on Yasmin to boost my Estrogen levels, after a week long course of Progesterone produced no cycle. She thought it "might be a good idea" to see an internest to do a full Glucose panel. I think she is not taking this very seriously... or am I over-reacting? Any suggestions? Should I get a second gynocological opinion, or just follow up with the glucose issue? HELP!!! Thanks!
