embarrassed and frustratedFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Feb 2003 09:37:33 -0600 (CST)
I've been hesitant to post this message for some time, but decided to post it now as from "anonymous". I have PCOS along with Endometriosis. I've been on just 1000mg of Metformin, which I understand is a low dosage for PCOS. It has helped me in some ways, but I have NOT seen a difference in the abnormal hair growth...especially on my stomach. It is extremely embarassing....I even don't like for my husband to see it. Because of a combination of ingrown hairs and tweezing, I get these ugly bumps and even little scars on my stomach. So, not only am I trying to remove the hairs, but then I always have to try to treat the scars to make them less visible. I am sooooooooo frustrated, and it has been more than a few years since the problem developed. Does anyone have any suggestions for hair removal? And for scar treatment? And should I see if the Dr. will increase the Metformin dosage? PLEASE RESPOND!!! This has been extremely upsetting for too long. -Anonymous
