Long Cycle - Does it mean I am not ovulating at all? From: PARIS (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Feb 2003 08:11:27 -0600 (CST)
I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS. I knew I would be as my periods range from 30 - 48 days. I have had all the blood work done and my doctor advises that all is normal. The ultra sound clearly showed polycystic ovaries however. My doctor advised that I am not ovulating due to my long cycle. However did not confirm whether she could tell from my blood test or just from the length of my cycle. Does this mean I am never ovulating or am I when my periods are around the 30/35 day mark. She has also advised that my case is mild, yet from reading this page it seems that my irregularity is quite severe. I am of mediterranean origin and have put the mild facial hair I have down to ethnic origin. I don't know how bad my case is and am a little confused. Can anyone shed any light? Also does anyone know of any specialists in this area in the London, (England) area?
