In a bad situationFrom: Karen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 24 Feb 2003 22:13:46 -0600 (CST)
I have also had irregular periods. While on birth control pills they were regular. Back in 1997 my husband and I decieded to start trying for a baby. It take us over a year but I finally concived in September 98. The baby was born 10 weeks prematurely. No explantion was given the only thing was that my water had broke premature. The baby was girl and soon will be 4 in a couple of months. You would never know that she was a premiee. In November of 1999 I was diagonised with migarines. A lot of this was due to the premature birth of our daughter and the financial stress of this birth. In February 2000, I wanted off the pill. We really did not get serious about conceiving another baby unitl September 2000. If it had happen between this time would have been great. However, we did not conceive. In February 2001 I went on clomid. I conceived in April, the Dr. confrimed the pregancy. A couple days I had a miscarriage. However, the OB/GYN would not let me give up. He said that this was something that would happen and we would try again. So the next month (June) I want back on clomid. Did not conceive. The next month took clomid again this time I conceived. Everything went find no miscarriage no premature baby matter of fact, it was a boy, that went over. Anyway I was just giving you some history leading up the diagonise of pcos. After having my son back in April of 2002, which a c section was done, because he was to big. He weighed 8lbs 12oz 21.5" long. I have not been the same emotionally, physically or sexually. Back in June 2002, I had to go on anit depressent medicine. They related this to the post patruim depression. I am stilling currently taking this. I would have symptoms of feeling weak, tingling in my feet and hands. I would burn up. I want to our family doctor, told him the symptoms. He checked thyroid, sugar level they all came back normal. So happened I was in the Dr.'s office one day when I had an attack. In September, 2002 I was digaonised with hypoglyemica. The hypoglyemica got so bad I had to to a leave of absence from work. A week later my right side start hurting, the Dr. that it might be appendicites. But it wasn't because my white blood count was not high enough. In October, 2002 I was in so much pain, my husband took me to the ER. THat is when that discovered that I had a small cyst on my right ovary. That is when I was finally diagonised with pcos. However, according to the "text books" my sugar levels are not low enough to be hypoglyemica. However, our finally dr which is wonderful, and has seen these attacks and diagonised pcos decided to try glucophage. It has worked for awhile. But the attacks are coming back and my rigt side hurts all the time. I am consistently taking prescription pain medication. I finally decided to go back the OB/GYN about the right side. A laporscopic surgey was planned to be done. However, while waiting on the Dr. I had an attack. The Dr. canceled the surgey and sent me back to the family Dr. The surgey can not be preformed until the family dr approves that the hypoglyemica attacks is under control. Anyway while at the family Dr. my blood sugar was tested around 9:00am. Within an hour it had dropped down to 51. The family Dr. said that there was nothing else he could do because he had run all test that he know and everything was coming back normal. There was on test that come back abnormal it was the C-Pep tide. He sent me to a endocringoloist. I went to see him last Monday, 2/17. While in his office I started feel the symptoms. The test my sugar level it was 85. Before I left the Dr.'s office it was 94. My husband and I left and went to get something to eat. Within an hour my sugar level had drop down to 85. 10 minutes later it was down to 81. Someone please explain this to me how it can drop so fast like this and not be hypoglyemica. Since Monday, 2/17 my sugar level has been anywhere from 55 to 106. The 106 is after I eat. Normally my numbers of a morning have been range from 70 to 80. The symptoms that I present when it drops is I feel like the color is going out of my face, I am Shaky, nausea, my feet start tingling up to the calves. My hands shaken. I get real hot, burn up, sweating. I can not think clearly, I know my surrounding, but it is hard for me to make a discussion at that time. The last couple of attacks that I have had I have cried. I called the endocringolosit, faxed him the numbers. His nurse called me back to inform me that he said "despite what I had been told in the past this was not hypoglyemica." Everything I have read and talked to other people about they say it it is. I work with a guy that has high blood sugar. He tells me that anything below 90 is low. I did not know what do. I am so confused. Right now I do not want to go back to see the endocringolisit. Right now I do not want to see any Dr. All I know is I have get to an answer soon because I need this surgey to fix the pain. Somebody please help me.
