I was on 500 and did just fine. I had some gas at the beginning, but other than that I was fine. My dr. just upped me to 2000, and wanted me to do it gradually, but of course I didn't wait, and I have been very nauseaus, and I had tried 1000 before, and was ok, so you might want to start at a lower dose and work your way up.
