That's correct on the cholesterol levels. It helps to clarify the relationships. Just because something is over 240 doesn't mean its a problem. I have had 3 cholesterol tests, all are high (> 200). My LDL is WNL. HDL levels I've seen are 35 - 55. Mine is close to 100. That's why you kinda want a doctor to look at it and give you a response based on that. If someone's LDL was 129, but their HDL was 35, that might be something a doctor wants to treat. Mine has never been treated because my HDL is higher than the clouds, and actually keeps getting better/higher as time goes on. (Go figure?)

http://www.diabetes.org/main/type1/medical/lab/diagnosis.jsp uses less than 110 as good, anything fasting over 126 mg/dl for > 2 or more tests is diabetic. Has that changed? I'm not diabetic, so that's why I ask.

http://www.diabetes.org/main/type1/medical/blood_sugar/glyc_hemoglobin.jsp indicated that they have different numbers for different labs. Has that changed?
