Hmm! I guess it depends on what he means by "didn't tolerate it very well." The only thing I can think of is that your liver was under strain to deal with it for some reason, putting you into a higher risk category for lactic acidosis. Any ideas if this is what he was talking about? I can't imagine any other problems!

If liver problems are the culprit, you might want to look at other insulin sensitizers (Avandia, Actos) instead of just going to a lower dose, if a lower dose isn't working for you.
