Hi,
I am an Australian living in Philippines. I pay P8.00 (Peso) for a 500
mg Tablet. This is equal to about US$0.15c at the current exchange rate
of 52. So that is equal to $15.38 for 100 tabs. But most people here
do not have insurance that would cover meds. So it is all out of
pocket. Many people could not even afford this as the minimum daily
wage here is P300 = US$5.75 a day. Average salary for a secretary,
accountant, etc would be about US$230 a month. So relatively speaking -
based on salary rates - meds are very expensive. There are many people
here who cannot get treatment because of cost issues......... Guess
those of us who can afford treatment are very lucky!
