Yes, the GGT (Gamma Glutamyl Transpeptidase), AST (aspartate aminotransferase) and ALT (Alanine aminotransferase)are Liver Enzymes. When your liver is damaged the enzymes AST and ALT are given off into the bloodstream; altho there are other reasons for elevations. The GGT is mostly an indicator of bile function altho it also can be elevated for other reasons. My daughter was born with a liver/bile duct defect and needed a liver transplant at 8 mos old. I can tell you depending on how high they are it is not something to mess with so you may want to talk to your doctor about how concerned you should be about it and whether futher investigation is warranted.
