Hi,

I have never had a HSG done.... so I don't know if what you describe is normal. However, it does not sound right.... if the pain and bleeding isn't resolved quickly I would contact your doctor - actually you should probably contact her anyway (no harm in asking - right? :-)). Worse thing in the world would be to have an infection but not realise it - and that could cause real damage. Having sex right after the HSG could be a risk for infection - I would guess - but really don't know.

Best wishes
