I am also in chicago and was diagnosed with pco. The thing about it is I also was tested as far as glucose levels and was normal, and the doctor exp. to me that still does not mean that my body know how to properly used the sugar that it is producing. I have tried for seven years dealing with one arrogant doctor after the next until this last one. He prescribed the metformin for me 500mg a day and I started taking it oct18,2002 and stopped on dec.18,2002. and just found out 1/27 last monday I was 5weeks preg. The side effects of the drug do not feel to great but, it does work I even went up to 200mg. of chlomid and it did nothing for me....
