Re: cortisol and abdominal fat

I am just about of normal weight and I've always had this weight round my middle and whenever I have lost weight (which has not been very much)it has never been from round there. I'm quite keen to get a cortisol test done, although I think I do have PCOS not anything else. I think I've read some women with PCOS can have slighlty elevated cortisol levels- but I'm not sure where, so I'm not vouching for the accuracy of this information. The only other thing I'm wondering about, which might be totally wrong, is whether or not lack of ovulation and low progesterone levels might partly be to blame for weight distribution? Like I think progesterone is meant to encourage weight on the hips and sometimes at menopause a woman's shape may change to have more abdominal fat....???
