Re: anyone taking 1500mg glucophage xr - RebeccaFrom: Heidi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 28 Jan 2003 16:40:45 -0600 (CST)
I am taking Glucophage XR. I take 1000mg in the morning and 1000mg in the evening. My doctor had initially started me on all 2000mg in the evening, but I was having a terrible time with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in the hours following the dose (I also should add that I have type 1 diabetes and wear an insulin pump). Taking it this way has worked great for me. I just had a baby, but prior to my pregnancy, I was able to lose 15 lbs. without even trying AND I felt great. I am hoping the Glucophage will help me to take off some of my post-pregnancy pounds! As others have noted, I am a bit unsure on how "extended release" the XR is, but I do know it has helped my PCOS symptoms much more than the regular Glucophage did! Good luck to everyone.
