PCOS and post-surgical blood clots

My endocrinologist told me that ladies with PCOS have a greater risk of developing blood clots that can lead to pulmonary embolus after major surgery. I am getting ready to have weight loss surgery and she is not a big fan of this surgery. My GYN thinks the surgery will be great for me and did not mention any higher risk of blood clots, and she diagnosed me with PCOS to begin with. Do any of you have any experience with blood clots after surgery, not just weight loss surgery? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
