Re: Another update! (pg mentioned)From: Sonnet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 25 Jan 2003 18:31:28 -0600 (CST)
Victoria you're too funny!! Ummm let's see. The heartbeat was about 160 bpm, which the OB listened to and said as a guess (it wasn't measured.) But, I figure he listens to lots of them, so he's probably right. He found it RIGHT away, which suprised me. I had heard lost of women say it takes several minutes. He basically plopped the doppler down on my belly spot on the baby! I think the baby is close to my front, too, because at this early stage the hb was VERY loud and strong. It sounded like a helicopter landing, lol - whoosh! whoosh! whoosh! Sorry I scared you about the peri... I am scared too! But, my thyroid wasn't *too* bad (TSh at 6.9, it's been worse) and is well controlled now, so we will see. Most of what I'm reading says that severe delays happen with an entire pregnancy of untreated hypothyroid. I just don't know enough about it so I will wait to ask someone who does! I *love* your responses to doctors about your weight... I am amazed constantly at how great your running is! Even when I was totally in shape and walking that far every day I was *walking* - there's a huge difference! Good for you, you're a true inspiration you know. I LOVE the idea about inviting them to race or see you at the gym :) Thanks Victoria for caring!
