Sabine,
I started on Glucophage XR 500mg taken with my evening meal then increasing another 500mg then another until 2 months later I was at 2000 mg.By introducing this slowly I did not have side effects until I was switched to Metformin 2000 mg. I asked for Gluc and had the insurance problems. I don't mind paying more for Glucophage XR because it has been so successful for me.
