Re: Diagnosed at 54From: Mark (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 25 Jan 2003 08:03:52 -0600
Hi Carolyn, I'm 48 and read about PCOS in a magazine Dec. 2001. My reg. doctor was treating me for separate problems that we now know were caused by IR PCOS. I demanded a referral to an Endo. that treats many PCOS members. I saw her April 2002. I started treatment right away. I educated myself from these email lists and online. I fired my doctor and asked the Endo for a doctor that understood PCOS and IR. Insulin resistance can cause problems, I'm perimenopausal and not TTC. One of the WI support group recently had her Mom DX'd. This is genetic. I really needed my PCOS support friends for the past year. Clara
