Hi Carolyn,

I'm 48 and read about PCOS in a magazine Dec. 2001. My reg. doctor was treating me for separate problems that we now know were caused by IR PCOS. I demanded a referral to an Endo. that treats many PCOS members. I saw her April 2002. I started treatment right away. I educated myself from these email lists and online. I fired my doctor and asked the Endo for a doctor that understood PCOS and IR. Insulin resistance can cause problems, I'm perimenopausal and not TTC. One of the WI support group recently had her Mom DX'd. This is genetic. I really needed my PCOS support friends for the past year.
