Re: Met & sugar cravings

I too have always had a real sweet tooth all my life. I just love chocolate! There are a few things I do to reduce cravings. Here are few helpful hints that have worked for me.

Beginning my day with a nice plate of fresh fruit (then having my eggs and a tiny bit of cereal and skim milk after) seems to reduce my body's need/craving for additional sugar during the day.

Beginning dinner with a good size romaine and vege salad or some other green vege seems to curb my appetite, so that the meat/fish I eat after is enough I don't crave more.

I also find that I don't crave as much if I eat slightly bigger meals when I take my medication.

I don't go more than 4 hours without eating during the day or I start craving sugar.

If I have a snack, one or two pieces of dried pineapple and a slice of cheese after seems to shut my cravings right off.

Exercise in the morning after breakfast reduces my appetite and sugar cravings as well throughout the rest of the day.

Also be careful that you may have felt "your insulin was under control". It's common in women with pcos to have a high sensitivity to insulin that doesn't show up on the numbers on blood tests, which means there can still be some sort of insulin problem even if it appears there is not. I believe this theory is true because I am one of those types.

Hope you can find some of my tips helpful. :) Take care.
