Hi Kim! I think this is one of the best books on healthy living, and balancing ALL your important hormones, that I have found- Dr Scwartzbein really gets into these hormones (insulin, cortisol and adrenaline among others). She helps you to decide on a plan based on your current metabolism. I found the first read-through a bit heavy and daunting but as I reread it a few times it all makes very good sense. I am using lots of her principles in accordance with my other favourite book/author- the Fat Flush Plan by Ann Louise Gittleman. I am doing the FF Plan to lose weight (extremely successfully- I have also regained my longlost periods with this plan) and when I am near goal, I will do the Scwartzbein plan exclusively. They are very complementary and have many of the same insights into healthy eating. I'd heartily recommend both! Good luck to you, and all.
