Hilary, Your condition sounds a lot like mine, except that I got the ultrasound along with the bloodwork. Though my hormones were all in the "normal" range, my ovaries looked like I was saving every mature egg since I was twelve. The endocrinologist I went to said that she sees 150 new PCOS patients per year. That kind of volume teaches a doctor about the subtleties of this condition, so she knew I might get results from metformin. After two months on it, I'm having a real period for the first time in 18 months. I'll find out in a week or so if the labs I just repeated show any change. Good luck, and don't let anyone tell you that your instincts are wrong. Sometimes, they are all we have to go on. Sheri
