Re: PCOS, ovulation, and periods

Unfortunately, it could mean anything!

I know that a day or two before my period starts, I get lower back pain, a feeling of heaviness in my abdomen, and some brown spotting. But every woman is different! When you've had periods before, did it feel like this before they started?

There's no way of knowing from your period whether you've ovulated or not, unfortunately. If you're looking to know, I would suggest charting temps etc. rather than the ovulation predictors - while some women find they work great, some women with PCOS find that the PCOS hormone imbalances make the tests useless, and they're an expensive investment.

You can always take a hpt and see what it says. I would think that spotting wouldn't usualy be a pregnancy symptom, unless it's implant spotting (and in which case it would be too early to tell anyway.)

Sorry that my reply basically has no solid information one way or the other for you! Good luck -
