Well, let's put it this way...they CAN, but they might not be as familiar with the more subtle aspects of Glucophage. That is one reason going to an endocrinologist is a better way to go...that is their specialty. Many OBs do not keep up with the current new research about PCOS, and many folks are either mis-diagnosed, or mis-managed. This is my opinion, based on observations.
