signs of hirutism?

I went to an endocrinologist, although he didn't seem as informed as I had expected from all I read on the web. The blood results aren't back (how long do they usually take?!) and he thought I had possiby discovered an early case of hirutism. I wasn't comfortable with him, so I didn't mention the hair that spread to my thighs, slowly seems to be traveling up my abdomen, and appeared on my butt in seventh grade. I don't want to wait and see how this progresses! I want to stop it now! Do doctors commonly prescribe glucophage? Are those symptoms signs of hirutism? He said I had "slight sideburns" and a little hair on my neck (I'd say A LOT). Is it normal to have hair on my chest (only a few dark and coarse, the rest rather light and around 1/3 of an inch--so far at least, considering it's still worsening)?
