Re: Chronic HeadachesFrom: Joseph (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 16 Dec 2002 04:32:14 -0600 (CST)
. I need your help. I am a 22 year old male suffering from chronic, constant pain in my head. I also have tension in most of my muscles (especially neck, shoulders, back, legs). I have seen many neurologists at Boston's best hospitals. They know: Its not a migraine, not meningitis, not lyme, not pressure, not tumors. I have had multiple cat-scans, mri's, mra's, lumbar punctures... etc (all tests are negative except slight enimia). My current neurologist (the chief neurologist at Brigham and women's headache clinic, has no idea what the problem is. I have been on multiple narcotics since this began 6 months ago. Right now I am on: duragesic (75 mg), clonopin, vicodin, amnitryptoline, and soma. While these help to relieve the pain they have not stopped the problem. I have also tried all, I mean all, headache medicines and they do not work. Including: zomid, dhe, imitrex, botox, fiorocet, ultam, ultracet, depakote, motrin, I can not remember all the names because there are so many Please email me with suggestions, questions, referrals, or anything. My life is being ruined by this. I can not work, and I had to take a medical leave from College. I have had no prior headaches (or other medical problems), neither has anyone in my family. If it helps, This headache began one evening while being intimate with my girlfriend. The very severe pain started in my neck and moved to my head where it remains today (ruining my life and causing anxiety and grief). They become worse with physical activity, and the pain starts out mild during the day and increases into the night. Light and noise do not affect it. Touching doesn’t cause pain. Sometimes my whole body hurts and feels tight and tense I need a cure because my world is hell. Please help, Thank you, Joe A. 781-237-6625 35 Cranmore rd Wellesley, Ma 02481
