Help ttc with pcos and no luck

I was wondering if anyone knows and could tell me how many carbohydrates you should or should not eat a day? I have PCOS and am ttc and I am not having any luck at all. I have been taking metformin for about six months now. I took my first cycle of clomid and still no luck. I thought I would try a low carb diet, exercise, and take the metformin and see how that goes. I am really not sure what to eat as far as a low carb diet except I know you shouldn't eat bread or starchy foods like my favorite french fries and soft drinks. Does anyone also know when I should start my second cycle of clomid and when is a good time to take a test after clomid to see if you are pregnant? Do I count days from when I took the clomid or from the days I should have ovulated? It has been 13 days since I should have ovulated from the first cycle and I am not pregnant I wonder if I took the test too early. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
