I was diagnosed yesterday with PCOS, and the course of action reccomended to me by my doctor was this: she told me that after 6 months or so of taking birth control pills (Yasmin, in my case), when my husband and I decide that we're ready to try for pregnancy, she would then prescribe a drug called Serophene(clomiphene citrate). She informed me that her colleagues and herself have had tremendous success using this treatment with women with PCOS. Maybe you could ask your doctor to refer you to an infertility specialist or GYN who works with infertility issues, cause it never hurts to have a second opinion :)
